6th Kuopio Alzheimer Symposium in Kuopio, Finland

Alzheimer’s disease is one of the most important health challenges worldwide. This year’s Kuopio Alzheimer Symposium will once again bring together the current leaders involved in clinical trials and provide a forum for new ideas for future research and subsequently for treatment and prevention options. The First Kuopio Alzheimer Symposium was held in January of 1999 in freezing temperatures. This time we decided to fulfill the wish of many of you to organize the meeting in the summer to provide you also an opportunity to experience the Finnish summer and the midnight sun.

The major focus of the 2012 Stockholm meeting will be on new targets and drugs for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The World's leaders in the field will discuss new trial designs, animal models, neuroimaging including PET and diagnostic recommendations as well as CSF and blood markers. Emerging Novel Therapeutic Targets will be presented and a session on oral communications will be open to young scientists. We expect approximately 1500 participants, mostly neurologists, psychiatrists, geriatricians and pharmacologists.
